In order to provide clients with designs that communicate their message clearly, we must actively listen & discover the theme.
Our philosophy is based on the following three key beliefs:
MESSAGE IS KING
A design project is worthless if it doesn't communicate the message effectively. The message must be clear and concise. It is vital that all elements of a design support and enforce this message. The primary job of tha designer is to aid the client in packaging the message so it is easily understood and remembered.
LISTENING IS A PROCESS
Listening may seem to be a passive act, but we have discovered it to be a process, one that must be done properly if the desired results are to be achieved. This begins with having a listening dialogue with the client. Clients are the most important part of any design project. The client knows the given subject matter to be communicated, and in many cases they are the ones who can provide the best description of the target audience. Without knowledge of the subject matter and target audience, a design project is doomed to failure before it begins. Active listening is the vehicle to attaining that critical knowledge.
STYLE FOLLOWS THEME
Every product has a story, and once we understand the story we can target the theme. Once we've targeted the theme we can develop the style. As designers our goal, when meeting with a client, is to discover the theme. Once the theme is discovered a style can then be established.
